  1. It’s amazing to me that if you want to kill a whole lot of people, it’s easy to do. Just go down to the gun store and buy something like an AR-15. I’m surprised this doesn’t happen more often. On the other hand, it seems like it is happening more often.

    • She has to get into office first.

But I wish I knew the answer. Both sides double down. How about is we let them keep their guns but ban ammunition.

    • I was out painting and thinking about this comment. I don’t think Hillary would fail to try. I don’t think Obama failed to try. In fact, they are both in the “we MUST do something about this” camp. The lack of action on this issue, in spite of the fact that the majority of people in the country favor stronger gun laws, is directly due to the NRA’s reprehensible hold over the Republican party and a handful of right-leaning Dems. Let’s hope that Trump’s part in the 2016 election will bring about a whole new Congress and trickle down to state legislatures made up with folks who will take reasonable action to limit the guns.

  6. In an effort to try to see things through the eyes of those folks that vote in contrast to my own views, recently I very carefully and with conscientious intentions watched an episode of Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. The episode featured how the AR15 semi-automatic assault rifle has become the chosen firearm for “target enthusiasts”. It detailed how this weapon, which was designed to kill as many human targets as possible in the shortest amount of time, can be very easily modified from semi-automatic mode to fully automatic mode. It talked about how the American public quietly ignored the fact that the weapon was being advertised as a sporting product to be used for target practice, when in truth, it has the ability to destroy hundreds of lives in less time than it took you to read this sentence.

No matter how many different angles they explored as to why there is a large sector of Americans that adamantly believe in their right to own automatic weapons, in the end, I will never be able to support there being any legitimate or logical reason why automatic weapons should be legally allowed to be owned by the average American. These machines were built to kill as many people as possible in the shortest amount of time. They are incredibly effective. The insanity will continue until we either change our laws, or we become extinct.

Semi-automatic assault rifles, or fully automatic assault rifles, are very effective machines designed to kill as many humans as possible in the shortest amount of time. It really is as simple as that. Today in Orlando, a machine designed to kill as many humans as possible in the shortest amount of time was used as intended, and now they are desperately in need of blood to try to save as many lives as possible. Our world continues to be altered by the decisions we make (or what we choose to ignore).

Heart-broken. Sending prayers of strength for the many families and friends and loved ones affected by this horrific American tragedy.
