At fifty-four-and-a-half, my funny bone holds me up more completely than all the other bones in my body. I depend on it to get through the 21st Century.
In real life, I am a medical researcher and writer. I do drugs and get paid for it. Great work if you can get it. And all surprisingly legal. I work for a small consulting company that studies the side effects of drugs. I have one job, one husband, one son, one dog, and all of them make me laugh.
Recently I have been writing up some of my observances. I hope you enjoy them.
You’re fallen off the face of the earth about as thoroughly as I have!
Are you still fifty four and a half?
Is your funny bone still your strongest bone?
Inquiring Guaps want to know.
Hope all is well in your part of the world.

Hey, Guap! Yes, I have fallen far off the WordPress grid. I am far older, and I’m pretty sure my funny bone has Trump-induced arthritis. Hope you are well!

Thanks for posting the SNL clip, Elsye. It is very touching. As I am in Canada, I could not access the clip the link that you gave. However, I was able to look it up on-line and access it from this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVDYlZy2Kko.

There are days when you could have it, Henry! I work for a company that studies the side effects. So I get all the fear without the fun of drugs!

My goodness, Jim, what a nice comment this was to wake up to. I’m blushing!
I’ve been pretty lucky in many ways in the experiences I’ve had, and blogging is such a fun way to flesh them out “before the colors fade” as one author put it. And the bonus is somehow finding friends and soulmates along the way. I count you as one of those, Jim.
I shared your comment with my niece/best friend. She suggested I put it on a billboard. But I’m not gonna do that.
I’m going to get a card made and hand it to St. Peter when I arrive at the Pearly Gates! It would be even better than a “Get Out of Hell Free” card, I’m thinking.
Thanks Jim!

And I love water. I’m in Maine, now, looking out at the seabirds. So I look forward to more.
I had been following before, I’m pretty sure, but somehow things get dropped. (I’m a bit of an anglophile)

I will. By the way, when you hit like it posts links to your old blog, not the new one. I don’t know what you can do about that, but thought you would like to know.

Good to know. Perhaps fix the problem by removing the old one from the gravatar? I’ll have to look into it.

I’m a complete technological doofus. So for now, I’ll leave it as is, because the old blog directs people to the active one. But I’ll keep working on it in spare bits of time. 🙂

I think I just fixed it, through the Dashboard. Under “My Blogs,” one can apparently designate the “primary” blog. My designation was wrong. Now it’s right. (I hope.) Thank you ever so much, Elyse!

Oh dear. I have been blogging now for over two years — I am now closer to 57!
But I stuck with the name for a number of reasons — mostly so that I can claim to have the dumbest blog name of all!

Sort of a unique perspective, I would have to say. Please tell the dog not to bite, I’m a bit squeamish that way.

An update for this page is long overdue. I am way past 54.5 and the dog is, sadly, dead as of August. I wrote Letting Go for him — top of “My Favs”. But he wouldn’t have bitten you. My 120 lb psychotic, alcoholic German Shepherd, Goliath, might have. Unless you gave him beer.
