Why Didn’t I Think Of That?

Do you ever feel that the stars are lined up against you?  That you can’t win in your own life?  That God has it in for you?

I have to say, that I have felt that way on more than one occasion.  On more than one occasion a day on bad days.

God strikes

I often feel like I’m between a rock and an electric place

Some days I know that God is out to get me.  But I never really thought there was anything I could do about it.  I mean, I’m me, and God, well, God is God.  He rules.

Right?

Well maybe not.  Because you see, an Israeli man has filed a restraining order against God.  True story!  Because sometimes, God is abusive.  And if God can’t be nice, He needs to keep His distance.  At least 300 feet away — that’s the usual distance abusive men must respect.

Restraining order

Sigh. I’m going straight to hell for this one.

  1. I like to think that, even when I am laying flat on my back, drunk, in a gutter, I am still looking up at the same stars as the rest of you… hope that helps…

  7. Glad to see you here (and probably in hell), Elyse. I would never file a restraining order against you.

  9. Well shit, Elyse!!! This may well be the answer to all the religious rights laws happening in the US right now. We ALL NEED TO FILE RESTRAINING ORDERS AGAINST GOD. Considering how upside down everything else is right now, it’s crazy enough that it just might work, I think you’ve stumbled on to something here.

  10. Lol, I was wondering how they would enforce it too. People have way too much time, and evidently money, to spare.

  12. I can understand why someone would seek a restraining order against God’s followers, but it looks like this man is going straight to the source.

Given that God supplies the air we breathe and the food we eat I wouldn’t be dissing the Man. Ha! God’s a good guy. We get ourselves into trouble regularly – even when we know we are acting out – and many things simply “are” and no one made them happen. With my health issues I sometimes have pity parties. One such day I was going to dialysis and feeling bad for myself when I met a young man who was a paraplegic in the elevator. He was steering his wheel chair with his chin. I think a hefty dose of Gratefulness is often in order.
