The presence of Terry Jones was the only reason I suspected it was fake. Otherwise I would have been showing my son and teaching him penguins can really fly.
I didn’t recognize him. I thought it was Richard Attenborough. Sigh.
If your son believes in Peter Pan (and I’m not saying he does), he should also believe in flying penguins. THEY actually make sense. I mean, a bird that can’t fly?
The English have had some great ones over the years. There was the one about switching to driving on the right side of the road, but making the change-over gradually; and The Guardian always has some good ones, like the Pro-Monarchy party taking control, and switching their news to an all-twitter format.
Oh yeah, I loved that too. I was trying to find out what they did this year, but haven’t found it yet. I’ll post that if I find it! Thanks for reminding me to plant my spaghetti bushes!
In offices all over the world, water cooler discussions are taking place on how penguins can fly. To the office skeptic, they say, “No really, it’s true. I saw it online!”

How perfect to have Terry Jones do that..the man who fought the giant electric penguin in the Python version of Scott of The Antarctic…

I had forgotten about that — I think I need to re-discover Monty Python. And only partly because my life seems like a long python skit!

Remember “Flo” from the old series “Alice” who often said, “When donkeys fly…” Well,… This was cute, Elyse. Thanks!

Now come on, how can you POSSIBLY make a case for either Peter Pan or penguins to fly?!? (This from the guy who defends and supports dragons….. 😉 )

You gotta believe. And not grow up. You’re pretty good in the latter, John.

With all that pretending to be serious, the Brits are often a real hoot. I love the idea of switching sides of the road slowly.

Oh God, somewhere out there someone is blaming this on Global Warming, or the lack thereof.

I remember this and I also revisit it from time to time. Love it! But while I agree it’s the best now… the really best first crazy one was the spaghetti harvest: http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/april/1/newsid_2819000/2819261.stm
