A beautiful girl, don’t you think?
This is Sophia. She is the brand new granddaughter of my friend, colleague and right arm at work, Yenny. Sophia was born on Wednesday, and her mom, Jessika, had an infection. That infection was transmitted to Sophia during birth. Today Sophia was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. That’s not good.
I’m just sending you this to ask you to send good Karma, prayers, happy, healthy thoughts to Sophia.
The prognosis is pretty good, even though meningitis is really nasty, especially so in a newborn. But the doctors immediately put her on antibiotics and they are taking good care of her. They seem to be doing everything right. Folks in my office immediately rallied to reassure Yenny (and by extension, Jessika and their extended family). Still, it will be a long couple of weeks for Sophia’s family.
Anyway, I just wanted to have you all thinking good thoughts in Sophia’s direction. No baby deserves this. Especially a baby with such a loving grandma.

An abundance of positive thoughts, prayers, healing vibes and good karma sent for Sweet Sophia and mama Jessika. What a gorgeous child. I hope she is soon safe in the loving arms of her family at home. Till then may the docs and nurses give her the very best of care possible.
I think that she is. I just got a text from a neo-natal specialist on our staff who said that things look good for little Sophia. I am relieved.
And I’m lucky. Not many folks have the resources I have at my office; and not many who have them are comfortable asking the questions.

It’s the universal energy that we all come from and flows through us. It’s a healing energy, and I can send it across distance to anyone who will receive it. I hope Sophia is well on the mend.
Oh, Reiki (say Ray-kee) and other energy healing modalities are things that the pharmacamafia don’t want the general public to know about, because if everyone learned a healing modality or three when they were children, the pharmaceutical industry would be devastated.

Thanks, Val. She is beautiful, isn’t she. It is a terrible illness, but I am pretty confident that they caught it in time and that she will be ok. But first it will be an ordeal for her family and Yenny’s office family.

She is a beautiful girl. Having been born with a (much less severe) infection that brought me home looking like a tomato, I know a but how the parents can worry. Sending thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery – and HUGE hopes she won’t turn out as warped as I am!
