I Tried to Resist. Really I Did.

Really.  I tried to resist posting this clip.  I tried hard.

I wrestled with my sense of “oh I can’t subject my international readers to this” and my sense of humor.  My tendency to show serious things in a funny way.  My senses of humor won.  My fundamental need to post about hypocrisy won.   Because this is as close to the truth as I have seen in a long time.

Happily found on Dailykos.com at this link.

  1. Jesus approves this message, and SO DO I. Fantastic, Elyse!

  2. I’m so glad you gave into the temptation, this is great. Hey, you’re name isn’t Adam or Eve is it? Sorry, I couldn’t resist either…lol

  3. It is pretty funny. I simply couldn’t resist. Of course, I’m going straight to hell for this one. Apparently I am part superball because I keep bouncing back out of hell!

  4. Hi,
What a great video, and I just loved the ending as well. Great find. :D

  5. Thanks, Mags! It is frighteningly true, too.

  6. what time does the party start???? did i miss it already? damn….

  7. Right ON!!!! Or maybe “Right” over and OUT!!! I know that would make ME happy!

  8. What a funny video! Real good one. :) I wonder, how many people would prefer to join this party! :)

  9. If I join the party, should I bring along a giant bag of candy and some diet soda for everyone?

  10. Oh my….I am so glad I had already swallowed (coffee that is).

  11. May you always give in, funny lady!

  12. Sweet production. It’s amazing there are so many examples of inconsistent thinking. Wouldn’t it be great if the people who think this way could think?

  13. It would actually be nice if all people were more thoughtful. And perhaps looked in the mirror more often. Or better yet, just accepted my opinion as, um gospel. That would work, too.

  14. LMFAO…..This was great. I needed the laugh. Funny, but true.

  15. Typical liberal. Invoking truth to undermine perfectly good propoganda.

Hilarious video, Elyse. Glad you posted it!

    • I hang my head in shame. Yes, I am a liberal. To liberal even to consider myself “A Progressive.”

Thanks Guap. Glad you are as warped as I am!

  16. Let’s just call it what it is… people looking out to their own interests and fear while honoring money and power. What happened to community, helping your neighbor and where is the love?

  17. This video just convinced me. I’m changing parties. My check is in the mail.

    • Does that mean you sold your soul to the GOP, Angie? NOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

      • I did do that once. For about 10 years. And I worked for one for 5. Writing speeches, campaigning and everything (which was more about having a job).

Have you ever heard how you should probably not eat at a restaurant if it’s former employees don’t? Yeah, take note ;)

Seriously joking (kiind of). Most my family eats at that restaurant. They don’t believe me about the rats.

      • Sorry for the typing errors. I have a naughty iPad.

        • I applied for jobs with several Republicans when I first came to DC. In fact, if the current Republicans were like the ones I knew when I first payed attention (the early 80s), I’d probably be a Republican. I mean, who doesn’t think a balanced budget is a good idea? Who doesn’t think that the gov’t should pay attention to what they’re spending. I like the old balance — where everyone met in the middle. There is no middle-ground any more.

Now the GOP is filled with crazies and I think a lot of folks are just starting to get an inkling of that.

          I like the typos — I’m assuming they’re inserted by Angie-1982.

          • Having worked for a Republican, I know that the crazies are the exception and not the norm. In terms of elected officials at least. The problem is that those elected officials feel they need to appease those crazies and often come off as looking just as crazy in the process. I sat through many a private discussion with a GOP politician acknowledging the crazy part of their base. And I and my coworkers would often close out a fundraiser and say, I bet the Democrat crazies are a lot more fun ;)

  18. I was told that the only way to get rid of temptation was to give in to it. So glad you did.

  19. Love it! I’m sharing it everywhere I know ;)

  20. Thanks Karen. Your Aussie perspective should help!

Play nice, please.
